Carilion Clinic is once again teaming up with Virginia Tech basketball to host the Shoes 4 Hope event. Patients at Carilion Children's and players from both the men's and women's teams are painting shoes for coaches to wear on the Saturday, Jan. 25 (5 p.m.) men’s game against Clemson and the Thursday, Jan. 30 (6 p.m.) women's game against Notre Dame as part of Coaches vs. Cancer, a nationwide initiative that empowers basketball coaches, their teams, and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer. All donations benefit Carilion Children’s Hematology and Oncology Clinic and local children fighting cancer.
